DC Superhero Girls - Wonder Woman

Hello! Ever since the changes of certain dolls lines, I've been pretty bummed out. I thought my doll-buying days would be over. Although, admittedly my interest had been waning even before the changes. The re-boot just helped to speed things along.
I don't even feel like making stop-motion with those certain doll lines. It's really sad, but it's just not fun anymore. ):

I've heard about DC Superhero Girls a long time ago from forums and blog sites. I wasn't really sure what to make of them. They looked great from the stock photos but I didn't know much about DC comic book characters so I didn't think I would buy them.
My DC character knowledge only comes movies, tv shows, and from word of mouth. Not from any comic book. I grew up watching the Christopher Reeve Superman movies and the tv show Smallville because my mom loves Superman.

I also watched Teen Titans as a kid but I'm so dumb I didn't even know it had anything to do with comics. I always thought it was weird that Robin was there, because I recognized him but I didn't know any better.
Sidenote, I can't wait for Starfire's doll!

After watching the Suicide Squad movie I've become very interested in learning more.

My Wal-Mart was very slow to put DC Superhero Girls on the shelves, but once they finally did I was so excited! :D
All six were available. I'm just a broke girl though, so I could only get one.
My mom loves Wonder Woman so I decided to make her my first!
She was $20.

**WARNING: I posted photos of this doll without her clothes. If a nude doll offends you, please do not scroll down.**

Wonder Woman in box.
I took the first few photos of her on my carpet since I was filming a stop-motion scene on my table and I didn't want to wait to open her.

Student ID Card.
Her ID card is the only "extra" thing Wonder Woman comes with.

"Wonder Woman" is getting exhausting to type. Her alternate name is Diana Prince. I'll just call her "Diana" from now on to make it easier on me.

Diana's bio.

Diana is interesting. Although, from what I'm reading in her bio, she doesn't seem very relatable. She's perfect, but I usually like being able to see a bit of myself in my favourite characters.

There's a DC Superhero Girls webseries and I'll probably end up watching it later tonight just to see more of what Wonder Woman's character is like.

If anyone reading this would like to recommend me some Wonder Woman comics, I'd love to check them out! (:

The other characters in wave 1 are: Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, and Poison Ivy.

Diana out of the box.
With her red boots, she can stand on her own!

Up-close look at her face,

There's tags on the sides of her head holding her tiara in place. I may take these out later and I'll update this post when I do, but for now I'd like to keep them there.

Back view.

Blue hair streaks.

Here comes the part where I start popping all the accessories off so we can get a better look at them.

Wonder Woman's hands.
Unlike Monster High dolls, only Diana's hands can be removed.

Bullet deflecting bracelets!

I recommend not throwing away the plastic band that keeps this in place on Diana. Without the band, this does not stay on very well.

The lasso of truth!

I like that her red shirt turned out to be a leotard. I hate when doll shirts start curling and riding up. Plus, now she looks ready to do super ballet and gymnastics!
*-*

Diana has an amazing 12 points of articulation!

Her bust joint can swivel all the way around.

Sorry for my gross looking stands, lol. I just finished using them for a project.

Her joints are fantastic! She's going to be great to work with in stop-motion! :D

Robecca and Wonder Woman.
Diana is tall. Next to Monster High's Robecca, she really does look like a powerful Amazonian. She stands at 12 inches tall.

Diana trying on Robecca's dress.

Diana could not fit Robecca's dress. I couldn't even pull it over her calves.

Robecca trying on Diana's clothes.
Robecca looks like a little sister trying on her big sister's clothes.

Robecca's feet have a way higher arch.

It fits?
Robecca can wear Diana's boots, but they're obviously way too big for her/

Diana trying on Robecca's heels.
Yeeeaaah... lol.

So, I just picked whatever doll was near to compare bodies. My Kurhn doll, Summer, happened to be closest.

Summer and Diana.
They don't look similar at all, but Summer's body is definitely thicker than Robecca's so here's to hoping something fits!

Diana is Summer's dress.
Whoa! She fits Summer's dress! (: The bust fits her exactly!
It's not really matching her style though...

It's too bad I don't have any Kurhn shirts and shorts for her to try on. It's a lot easier to fit into another doll's dress than something more fitted.

Summer in Diana's leotard.
Diana's leotard is loose around Summer's hips.

Diana's pants fit okay. They're loose but stay up fine.

Summer can wear Diana's boots! This is probably the closest fit you can get. Summer's and Diana's foot arch are around the same height. Summer's feet are smaller though.

Lots of space!

Midge and Diana.
I already know the bust isn't going to fit, but the hip size appears close.

Diana in Midge's dress.
At first glance it may look like the dress fits, but then you turn her around...

And it's way too loose!

Midge in Diana's leotard.
Midge looks tired.

It's not even close to fitting in the back.

Diana's pants fit nicely on Midge around the hips, but it's loose at the bottom.

I'm loving this doll. Her face is beautiful. Her body is beautiful. Her joints are everything I want. She's checking off every box for me.
DC Superhero Girls is a doll line I can get into. It's also making me want to get into more DC comics. (:

EDIT: 27 September 2016

Loki and Wonder Woman
Hot Toys Loki and Diana are about the same height! :D
